It’s All About Community! We are a community collaboration of nonprofits committed to changing the way we age. We believe older adults benefit from actively engaging in their community and knowing where to access information and resources. Through community partnerships, we offer comprehensive services to support independence and healthy aging. Through education, recreation, information, mental and physical health, referrals, in-home services, and community engagement, our goal is help seniors build and strengthen their communities from within. It is through the generosity of our founders and partners that we are able to bring programs and services to you.Learn About Our Comprehensive Senior Services
- We are happy to announce the Colorado Health Foundation awarded a two-year $200,000 grant to Jewish Family Service (JFS) to continue our Colorado Senior Connections (CSC) program with Senior Reach in Wheat Ridge. Over the next two years, we expect to serve an additional 250 older adults in the Wheat Ridge area, focus on helping isolated seniors, and expand the Senior Advisory Committee to strengthen community leadership with the program. If you are interested in helping to chart the direction for our innovative program, please consider joining our Senior Advisory Committee (see description on page 2). Thank you to all our partners for their hard work over the past three years, and to our clients and the community for their continued support and investment in CSC.
- We have made some changes to our Program Guides that we want to share with you! First of all, the Program Guides will now be coming out quarterly, so please be sure to pick up the latest version every three months. Additionally, beginning with the Program Guide for second quarter (April-June), we will have one combined Program Guide for CSC-Edgewater and CSC-Wheat Ridge. We hope you find these changes beneficial, and we thank you for your continued participation and support.
- We are happy to join the efforts of Localworks and take part in the Activate 38 Active Living Coalition. Activate 38 is a Neighborhood Active Living Project that will increase the number of people who walk, bike, wheelchair roll, and use public transit for transportation along 38th Avenue, west of Kipling. The project’s overall goal is to understand how the community uses that section of 38th Avenue to get to where they need to go. With the help of the community and the support of Kaiser Permanente, we will work to inform and support the City of Wheat Ridge in their efforts to improve the area.
